Meet Cory Graves
Strategic Advisor, Founder of Protodynamics, and expert in next-generation battery logistics and technology.
They say a storm strips everything away down to the foundation, but what happens when the foundation you were given was already fractured?
Long before I stood on global factory floors or engineered supply chains for multi-billion-dollar tech giants, my world was defined by missing layers. I did not inherit a family business, a safety net, or a roadmap for success. Instead, my earliest years were a masterclass in survival, navigating an environment heavy with unpredictability and a complete lack of family support. For a child growing up in the noise of that reality, your mind learns to adapt in ways ordinary life never demands.
You develop a hyper-vigilance. You look at a room and see every exit, every shifting variable, and every potential threat before anyone else even takes off their coat. For me, that survival mechanism evolved into something structural: a photographic memory and an obsession with systems. Where others saw a chaotic blur of data or a broken family dynamic, my brain forced order onto the madness. I began mapping patterns—memorizing layouts, calculating logistics in my head, and organizing information into invisible, unbreakable compartments. The noise of my childhood became a forge. It stripped away the luxury of fear and replaced it with a relentless, mechanical drive to execute.
This lead to a legacy company I built for 15 amazing years and the inventions I have finally mastered. When you start with nothing, the world cannot threaten you with an empty pocket. You learn early that security is a system you build with your own hands, piece by piece, from the ground up.
The family I have created with an extremely talented and successful wife of 14 years, my little girl whom I cherish, and the foundation I have built upon brick by brick is the story I like to tell as my true legacy of success. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that with just two hands and an imagination, things that seemed entirely impossible could become reality.
We are not defined by our failures; we are measured by how we meet them. Take that. Learn from it. You will get knocked down over and over again, but if you keep on getting back up each time, the ceiling will get higher and you will grow taller than you ever imagined.
